FIDA has partnered with Best Beginnings, a UK charity that works to reduce health inequalities in babies and young children, to launch a web app design competition for young people.
This is a real-world challenge to design an app that will be used by health professionals in the NHS. The purpose of the app is to track the uptake of a new service called Baby Buddy in a way that is appealing and easy for health professionals to use – with clear data visualisation and functions such as leader boards and area champions.
The charity have produced a technical brief, and the young person who submits the winning entry will as a minimum have the opportunity of constructive critique and input on their design from the charity’s professional software developers. If the calibre is sufficiently high and meets all requirements of the brief, the winning entrant may also see their design taken forward to be integrated with the Baby Buddy programme and used by NHS health professionals.
The competition is open to pupils in S3 and up, and there is no limit on numbers participating. To register your interest or for more information, please visit https://fida.world/contact-us/
