March has seen exciting progress at the Futures Institute at Dollar Academy (FIDA), with the International Sustainability Diploma pilot nearing its conclusion. Pupils across the country have been engaging with the final unit – Entrepreneurship: Ideas into Action – developed in partnership with the University of Stirling. The sessions have brought ideas to life, helping young people build confidence and entrepreneurial skills.
A new series of short case study videos offers a glimpse into the impact of the Diploma through pupils’ own words. The first features learners from Dumbarton, with more to follow.
FIDA also took part in the recent Employer Engagement Forum at Alloa Tower, where staff shared updates alongside speakers from Skills Development Scotland and Progressive Pathways. Discussions underscored the growing importance of communication, collaboration, and sustainability in education.
In support of this month’s UN Sustainable Development Goal – Gender Equality – a creative project by two pupils from Inverness Royal Academy was showcased. Their short film addresses gender equity through original research and powerful storytelling.
Support for FIDA continues to grow, with donations from parents and alumni helping to fuel future developments.
